In striking contrast, high-altitude resorts such as Val dIsere-Tignes along with Serre Chevalier and Italian resorts at the western end of the Alps are enjoying the best start to the season in 25 years. In Europe, its early days yet many resorts are not scheduled to open for another fortnight, and there’s a reasonable chance of more snow arriving in time for the holiday crowds.
